New Patient Center
If you are visiting our office for the first time, we would like you to know exactly what to expect. We want to provide you with a warm and enriching experience, and will make sure that you feel welcome and supported. We often receive compliments on the professionalism of our office from the moment you step out of the elevator and enter our clinic that’s designed to inspire serenity. Welcome!
Your First Visit
As you enter the office, you’ll be warmly greeted by one of our staff members, who will invite you to sit down to complete any unfinished new patient paperwork. You’ll then be escorted to a private room so that we can measure your blood pressure, height and weight. This will be followed by an extensive health history.
Dr. Bob will then lead you to one of our exam rooms, where he’ll conduct an in-depth assessment of your health, including
- A neurological exam
- An orthopedic evaluation
- X-rays, if necessary
Once an analysis of your X-ray and exam results have been completed, Dr. Bob will deliver a report of findings. This discussion is a complete review of your examination outcome, and the course of action necessary to make spinal corrections.
Your First Gentle Adjustment
Before receiving your first chiropractic adjustment, we will make sure that you feel relaxed and comfortable. As you lie face down on one of our comfortable adjusting tables, Dr. Bob will initiate your treatment with myofascial trigger point therapy, which will relax the muscles of your back and reduce uncomfortable spasms.
You will then receive a gentle adjustment that has been customized to meet your needs and that is appropriate for your age, build and physical condition.
The Ergonomics of Life
Many patients ask if they must come in for treatment for the rest of their lives. Of course, this is always an individual choice, but there are factors that contribute greatly to the advisability of lifetime care. We call these factors the ergonomics of life:
- Lifestyle: Do you eat a clean diet? Exercise regularly? Maintain strength?
- Stress: Do you control your stress levels? Suffer with anxiety or depression?
- Work: Is your job physical? Do you sit at a computer all day long? Overworked?
These simple factors, combined with the detrimental effects of aging and physical injury, make periodic chiropractic check-ups a wise choice in today’s world.
Therefore, Dr. Bob looks at the triad of health and develops a specific program for each patient for their individual needs. He uses exam, health evaluations, nutritional evaluations, and ergonomic functional evaluations to determine the best course of treatment. Nutritional support is recommended with dietary information and by use of products from Douglas Labs and Standard Process vitamin companies.
